Spanish Education Abroad
One of the best ways in which UMD students can become effective global citizens is by engaging with others in their native language, learning their cultural traditions, and living their socio-political realities.
The Department of Spanish and Portuguese (SPAP) at UMD is dedicated to enriching your academic journey with exciting study abroad opportunities in Spanish and Portuguese-speaking countries. Imagine immersing yourself in vibrant cultures, honing your language skills, and experiencing life as a local! Our programs—available during Winter, Summer, and Semester sessions—take you to Spain and Latin America, allowing you to fulfill your major or minor requirements while exploring new horizons.
Our students emerge as culturally competent individuals, equipped to navigate and appreciate the diverse tapestry of human experiences. By participating in our programs, you’ll engage in meaningful cultural exchanges that are essential to the study of the humanities.
