Please join me in congratulating Sandra Cypess for her Honorable Mention at the 2012 PROSE Awards.

The Prose Awards  given by the American Publisher Awards for Professional  and Scholarly Excellence, were just announced last week, and in the area of “Media and Cultural Studies”.
Honorable Mention was awarded to Uncivil Wars: Elena Garro, Octavio Paz, and the Battle for Cultural Memory ( The University of Texas Press)  by Sandra Messinger Cypess
The jacket has also already won a design award from the American Association of University Presses.

The PROSE Awards annually recognize the very best in professional and scholarly publishing by bringing attention to distinguished books, journals, and electronic content in over 40 categories.
