Please join us in welcoming the new Language House director, Dr. Marilyn Matar, who graduated with a Ph.D. in Modern French Studies from our FREN program in 2014 and who currently works as a Clinical Assistant Professor of French and Francophone Studies at Catholic University. Her research focuses on the literary representations of the Lebanese civil war. She is currently working on a book manuscript, Les Représentations littéraires de la guerre civile libanaise: Pour une poétique du lien. She has published four articles in peer-reviewed journals and a book chapter, been invited to give several talks, and has presented at numerous conferences since 2006. She is a bilingual speaker of Arabic and French.
