German Cluster wins first place at Language House Film Festival
December 08, 2021
A friendly competition among language clusters at this annual event
The Language House organizes a short film festival that allows students with the help of their mentor to engage with their target language and culture with creative short films. Each year students work with a theme in a creative fashion to create an engaging short and this year’s theme was “Biopics”. Students had the option to choose influential famous or fictitious figures to depict in their films. This festival provides students with the opportunity to not only engage in their language in creative ways, but to also engage with the languages and cultures of the other clusters. Professors Ianozi, Mason, and Vernola served as the panel of judges for the festival. This year the German cluster won first place with their film on the Brothers Grimm. The Chinese cluster placed second and the Japanese and French tied for third. You can watch all the short films on Youtube by following this link. Please join us in congratulating all the language clusters for a job well done!
