The US Teaching Assistantship Program is overseen by the Austrian Federal Ministry of Education and Women's Affairs and places approximately 140 US college graduates in Austrian secondary schools each academic year. Teaching assistants work with local English teachers in the classroom and provide a more cross-cultural learning experience for students by acting as representatives of US life. The program is intended to foster mutual understanding between Austria and the United States.
