The Maya Brin Residency Program and UMD Libraries are pleased to host the internationally-acclaimed Russian writer and cardiologist Maxim Osipov. An award-winning prose writer and chronicler of contemporary Russian life from the perspective of a doctor working in provincial Tarusa, Osipov left Russia in 2022 and is currently writer-in-residence at Leiden University. Please join us for an evening with Osipov in conversation with cultural theorist Mikhail Epstein (Emory University) about what it means to be a Russian writer in the midst of war and emigration.
