Six ARHU alums and one student received the prestigious grant.

Six alums and one current student from the College of Arts and Humanities have received 2024–25 Fulbright U.S. Student Grants for international research, studies and English teaching.
Each year the Fulbright U.S. Student Program provides grants for undergraduate and graduate students as well as recent graduates to create their own research projects or teach English abroad. The prestigious program offers the opportunity for students to gain international experience, personal enrichment and cultural exchanges in more than 140 countries.
ARHU recipients:
Abigail Furman ’24, an English major, will be an English teaching assistant in Kosovo.
Evan Gaalswyk ’23, a Spanish language and literature and government and politics double major, will be an English teaching assistant in Colombia.
Caterina Ieronimo ’23, who received dual degrees in Arabic and individual studies, will conduct research in Italy.
Allyson McCarthy ’18, a government and politics and Arabic studies major, will study in the United Kingdom.
Temma Schlesinger ’24, a communication major with minors in music performance and Spanish language, culture and professional contexts, will be an English teaching assistant in Argentina.
Zachary Wandalowski ’24, a government and politics and economics major with a minor in German studies, was accepted to be an English teaching assistant in the Philippines; he declined in order to accept a Boren Scholarship to study Tagalog in the Philippines.
Anna Wenzel, a Ph.D. student in history specializing in modern Latin American history, will conduct research in Mexico.
